Holgate Center

Originally established in 1883 as an orphanage and home for the elderly, our organization has grown to offer a complete range of senior living services, including retirement living, restorative nursing and rehabilitation.

Holgate Center circa 1883

The Odd Fellows Retirement Community became the first component of what is now the Holgate Center campus. Moving to its present location in 1901, the Odd Fellows Retirement Community now provides independent retirement living apartments and Residential Care supportive living units. The original building on our campus became known as Kenilworth Park Plaza, providing housing to both orphans and the elderly. In the 1970's Kenilworth Park Plaza became a HUD subsidized housing complex for the elderly. Dedicated in 1973, Friendship Health Center completed the Holgate Center's original intent to provide a full continuum of living options for the elderly, providing both rehabilitative and intermediate nursing services.
