Holgate Center Campus

The Holgate Center has been providing a continuum of care for over 100 years. Our campus, located in a beautiful neighborhood in Southeast Portland, provides a complete range of living options to match the lifestyle of seniors. From independent living in the Odd Fellows Retirement Home to state of the art medical services in our Friendship Health Center, seniors and their families will find our care and services are centered around our residents needs.

Odd Fellows Retirement Community

Opened in 1897, the Odd Fellows Retirement Home became the first component of what is now the Holgate Center Campus. Moving to its present location in 1901, Odd Fellows Retirement Home now houses 99 apartments. As well as offering studios and one and two bedroom units, 21 of the apartments are licensed for residential care under the Oregon long-term care model. This gives the Holgate Center the ability to serve both retirement-level residents as well as those in need of assistance with daily living activities.

Friendship Health Center

Dedicated in 1973, the Friendship Health Center completed the Holgate Center's original intent to provide the whole spectrum of senior living options. Friendship is a 100 bed, Medicare­ certified nursing and rehabilitation complex. Providing a high level of medical and rehab services, Friendship meets the needs of patients requiring a short-term stay following a health crisis. Additionally, Friendship's capabilities also accommodate those with respite or hospice needs.

The focus of an extensive updating project in the mid-1990s, Friendship has established a solid history of excellent patient care by providing state of the art equipment and resources. Our committed and caring staff playa critical part in ensuring that as long-term care evolves, so will the way services are delivered at Friendship Health Center.
